oscar nominations, the way they should be

So saw Erin Brockovich tonight.  It wasn't horrible as i was hoping, but it was not good.  It was certainly not oscar material.  Nothing about it.  But i do terribly enjoy Steven Soderbergh behind a camera, this, out of sight, and the behemoth Traffic all have a wonderful look about them, especially the editing in the two former.  Anyway, now i can in good conscience be pissed off tomorrow mornign when i read that brockovich has received 1290 nominations.  And, in the spirit of tomorrow being nomination day, here are the nominations as I would have them.  Several movies i really wish i had seen, namely Pollock, Dancer in the Dark, and Sunshine.  As I bet there are strong contenders for almost all the categories below in those movies.  So uhh, here's the list.   If a name is starred, it's because they are notably less deserving than the others in their category.  And as for director, I really don't know what i talk about when i saw "the director did well."  For the purposes of the list, i picked the two movies that i think benefitted most from the overall composition, and not so much on the story and performances.  The story and performances are made more fitting by the way the film looks, and not vice versa, if you know what i mean.
