good weekend. katie and i went to the shins concert on friday night. was good. i'm not particularly fond of shows at the roxy, and the shins were great but not like OMG great... they were pretty much as you would expect them to be, which is certainly good enough. although, for the first time ever in my life, i was unable to see the band since i was standing right before like a 6 inch platform. it was weird. katie said she like it, which makes me think that maybe if i force music on her she might go to future shows so i'm not a loser all alone.

immediately after the show we met with jin and friends and went to this bar called the tam. the place was essentially mary ann's, if mary ann's had more space and was a dive but not quite AS a dive. hell, even one of the bartenders was wearing a mary ann's shirt, as apparently he used to work there. the biggest difference is that the jukebox was really weird and was playing pavement and wilco and built to spill. good for them.

saturday i pretty much played video games. sunday i played poker at tony's and came home and vegged out to fox's lol sunday. hahah i actually wrote it. fuck them.

today i didn't have work so i got to chill out. i played some videogames when i got out of bed (after watching dora the explorer... which was AWFUL but i couldn't turn away). so i played my games and then got bored of that so i cleaned my room. and clean it how. the place is like a goddam masterpiece now, it like turns me on and stuff. i give it 2 days until it looks like the shithole it used to be.

oh yeah, before i cleaned my room i watched daytime tv... jerry springer and maury povich. i CANNOT believe springer. like... wow. seriously, wow. they have, as part of the show, a pole dancer that that have to mosaic out her crotch when they do the upskirt camera angles before commercial break. she's not like a guest or anything... she's PART OF THE SHOW. and it was pretty much all downhill from there. i'm not sure if this makes me feel bad for humanity more than the fact that fox's friday night lineup was celebrity spelling be followed by when animals attract (an hour of footage of animals doing it). but like, wow. and the commercials during daytime tv are terrible too.. nothing but those degree from home and medical assistant training courses and personal injury lawyer commercials. i'm not sure during my two hours that i saw a normal commercial for a product, like shampoo or a car or something.

so then i cleaned my room as mentioned previously. and i realized that it's freaking boring as hell to be home all day. i don' tknow why weekends work but they do. today felt different because it was a monday and it was b-o-r-i-n-g. i cleaned my room and did laundry for chrissakes. i don't know what i'm going to do after friday when i have 9 days off.

then i went into work at around 6 to do my second to last (!!!!) meeting ever. was fine, a typical bullshit meeting that i was told would be cake but turned into 12 owners who hate BRW. like i care. want to fire us? GO FOR IT. micah (my replacement) was there. then we went out for a quick drink. he's a good guy and i wish him well... i think he's better suited for it than me. but GAWD i cannot wait for my lameass cubicle and longass commute.

i remain however very unhappy. well, periodically unhappy. for the most part i'm just not happy. there's a definite distinction. one way or the other, happiness is not much a part of me. maybe the new job will take care of it. i doubt it, but hey, here's to hoping.

i've decided to stick with my february cd as is. i like having it ready by midmonth. i will burn one for katie and one for jin, but more importantly, i like having the playlist on file to refer to in later months/years.

I think the theme should be songs i play throughout the past 30 days and then assemble on a couple of nights while drunk. so it's like shit i've been listening to, plus shit i thing of at the moment, all sequenced so that it sounds good together. i think that works. it'll be a nice snapshot sorta of the past 30 days with some random crap thrown in for shits and giggles. if you want one let me know.
