fill out your pizza slips at lunch
what'd i do yesterday?
i dunno, did work, came home, played video games and then at about midnight sean came over and invented the best drinking game ever. i think it is now my favorite drinking game ever, yes, even eclipsing beirut. i like it so much because it combines four of my favorite things: beer, video games, pokemon, and princess peach up-skirt shots. drinking super smash bros. oh yes.
and then sean and i went to rich's and played asshole with rich and janessa and then i watched an episode of three's company.
and then i went to sleep and woke up much later. then i played videogames all day today until about 11 when katie came over. then we left at 11:30 and went to 1661. there was some party there, but it sucekd. so katie sean and his brother and i hung out on the roof and drank beer and then it was just katie and i and we talked about the real world and what not. then we came home.
katie would like to give a shout out to herself, and to annabanana. she had a good time tonight and would like us all to remember how weird kate's crazy freshman year roommate was.
ok, one last thing. i wasn't going to write this, but whatever. so we were at this party, and katie and i were talking, and i started talking about twin peaks and i brought up sherilyn fenn and how goddam hot she was and how agent cooper was a total gay for not doing her when she was all naked and waiting for him in his bed. and katie totally went off on me. all like oh, so if i put on a mole on my face i'd be better like sherilyn fenn? maybe i should get surgery. and i was all like it was just a tv show.
and then katie and i went to hell.

hotcha girls
hey great, it's midnight!
yeah, so i've chucked frontpage, am using dream weaver, this page is super clean codewise, and i plan to go through and figure out how to clean up the rest of this shit site. so yeah, anything before this entry will probably look weird until i get un-lazy enough to fix it.
been a pretty boring couple of days, haven't really done jack aside from play tactics ogre. oh yeah, i'm living the life.
yeah yeah yeah
i think i had something i wanted to remember to write earlier. but it's sorta gone. it probably wasn't important. maybe something that happened while brushing my teeth or something this morning.
ha that's great. the new counting crows album is on the newsgroups, and i don't even stop to consider getting it. i'm so cool it hurts. i want to listen to the faint nonstop, because glass danse was on last night, and it just put me in such a lovely decadent mood. man, this album is awesome. it was THE nighttime shower getting ready for a party cd. and everytime i hear it i just want to have another goth dance party like that fateful night. faithful night? fateful looks wrong, but it defines right. anyway yeah. anyway the faint, yeah, the faint. who am i listening to this? if this is wrong, i don't wanna be right.
fuck man, i've been listening to more and more hip-hop too. underground, i mean it's a world of difference between el-p and whoever the hell is on jam'n 94.5, but still, hip-hop?
hey great, it's 12:30! i really really was gonna go to bed at 11. it's becoming nigh on impossible to get up in the morning. "nigh on?" i love when i use phrases that a.) might be being used incorrectly b.) might not even be phrases. because really, who questions it? it adds credibility.
oh yeah, this pledge of allegiance stuff is even better the day after. i don't have the link and don't remember specifics, but the guy who filed the suit said some funny things. my favorite, in regards to his filing the suit "it's a lot of fun, everyone should try it." the pledge of allegiance was declared unconstitutional by some guy seeing if he could push the legal system. that's great.
also, i'm fairly sure that our currency too is unconstitutional. so everyone hold on to your money with the "in god we trust" on it, because i'm gonna bet 5 years down the road it's going to be a hot seller on e-bay.
1:14: remembered what it was i wanted to say. i've forgotten to eat dinner these past two nights. that is all. also, there is something seriously wrong with the area between my right shoulder and neck. hurts like a mother.

today at work i was overcome with this huge urge to play legend of zelda a link to the past. but alas, my super nintendo is at home and i really didn't feel like sitting at my computer and playing it. so i came home and lamented that fact and then was struck with a new idea: i'd play tactics ogre or chrono cross or something on the playstation. until i found out that you can't interface ps2 mem cards with ps1 saves. and i didn't feel like running out to compusa. so instead i just played super smash brothers and watched american psycho. what a silly movie. and christian bale is british, and hearing him talk in that silly language after watching the movie was just tops.
listening to dj shadow now. after hearing and becoming strangely enamored with "the 6 day war" of his new lp, i felt it was time to actually listen to ...endtroducing. it's good stuff. i mean, it takes a mood, the kinda mood that wants to be a little on edge listening to crazy john carpenter samples and what not. but it's good. what i like is that it's all samples, and whereas the avalanches disc, also all samples, is a party in a box, an album that prides itself on being made up of samples and nothing but, dj shadow takes the stuff and crafts songs that don't sound like a party throwing old tv dialogue over madonna bass lines. it just sounds like some weird dude doing some crazy shit with spooky atmospheres and hip-hop. and it also drives me crazy when i hear something and go "what the hell is that from." like this sample. oh shit, i think it's the music they play during those weird vh-1 insomnia commercials. kickass.
i really want a drum machine. and maybe some instructions on how to use it, and how to write lyrics and melody. but just a drum machine will do for the moment.
has everyone gone out and bought the hot hot heat ep and requested it on the radio? no? c'mon guys, they're canadian. you all suck. now you can get me buffy for my birthday AND a topato/sherrif pony coffee mug.

a candy covered clown
so after many hours of computer games, at about 7pm, i got a sudden, inexplicable urge to see american psycho. maybe the grisly murder i committed last night had something to do with it, actually. so i went on down to blockbuster and rented it. I was going to do a christian bale double-feature, but their dvd copies of newsies were out, so i picked up blue velvet instead.
i ultimately had to watch blue velvet, as it's due tuesday and my monday night was booked. god damn david lynch for just creating the most surreal and disturbing characters and scenes. nothing quite beats dennis hopper as a nitrous sniffing homicidal fetishist with tourettes. yeesh. what a crazy crazy man. after the movie i started watching the hour+ documentary, but had to cut it after 10 minutes because i needed my sleep. now it turns out my monday night dork sessions don't start till next week, so i can settle down with it tomorrow night.
toooo much music. i need the time to give these albums the multiple listenings to they deserve. instead, beulah just becomes background music as i do my night time stuff. so i walk away thinking "yeah, it sounded nice." without any specific memories of any one song. sigh. also, i'm super pissed because i missed the newsgroup post of the flaming lips radio promo for the new album. heard two of the three tracks a bunch on zbc and they're so good and i want to listen to them more.
i love fucked up dreams. i had about a zillion of them last night. they really ran the gamut, some downright bizarre like the one where katie and i were driving somewhere in separate cars and i was following her and she called me to tell me she just saw some girl make her mom a poo and jelly sandwich. and some that are downright disturbing. either way, i love em. dreams are crazy things yo.
oooh, the all-time quarterback album. ben gibbard from death cab doing solo stuff. elation.

the hymn for the cigarettes
err i just played computer games all day today until about 10 when sean came over and we drank and played video games a bit and then walked to leblanc's cause he was having a party. we walked by way of my car to make sure it was still alive and we turned on to hatherly and sean said he head together again playing. i can't hear songs when they're not right in front of me. when something is in the background i have the most horrible time hearing it. so i walked closer, and got to the front lawn and realized that it wasn't just together again, but it was the bostonians version. so we walked in and who do we find? rich. so we went in, played some beirut (we won twice) and then kicked it to lebalnc's where we played weird fruit salad flip cup. rich's 15 year old brother came as well as janessa the spelling on that is p[retty much totally up in the air. it was a good time and i'm excited to know where rich lives because now i can go there and harrass those people from time to time.

banned from the end of the world
just saw minority report. it was fantastic. and i can't believe spielberg was behind it. no smarmy morality plays here. the whole thing was, on a moral level, pretty damn ambiguous. spielberg took another sci-fi short story, one with a certain bleakness and despair to it, chock full of moral ambiguity and turned it into a fucking carnival where a walking teddy bear had a more sympathetic plight than the main character because hey, at least the teddy bear was designed from the get go to be a joke and wasn't dealt with such a heavy "i'm gonna make you cry" hand. spielberg learned his lesson and took minority report's source and just gave it a spectacular treatment. god it's fucking great, go see it. looks like spielberg is back to enjoying making movies, rather than enjoying making audiences react. huzzah. that's all i'll say about MR. just go see it.
today i did the work thing and at lunch went down into cambridge for some wanton money spending. purchases:
the hot hot heat ep, which i cannot tell you to GO BUY anymore because it is about the most awesome thing i've heard in very long
the new hefner ep: great stuff, with a lot of drum machines... yay!
john vanderslice - mass suicide cult figurines, the new GBV, and then two matador comps. Five cds for umm, 14 bucks i think. should be fun. the only thing i've listened to is pavement's cover of "killing moon," a song i've been listening a lot to since i saw it in the opening of donnie darko, so finding a pavement cover of it on what's up, matador was a happy surprise. these comps should be fun, matador is a pretty keen label. started off with pavement and pavement type groups, but more recently has added a lot of electronica and hip-hop to the label, as well as shit like mogwai. fuck they're all over the place: pavement, gbv, superchunk, yo la tengo, boards of canada, cornelius, unwound, modest mouse, matmos, mary timony, mogwai, jsbx, liz phair, arsonists, fuck, come, sleater-kinney, jsbx, cat power, spoon, pizacatto five, it's just like fuck already, pick a sound. but hey, more for me i guess.
check this out for a great non-interview with hot hot heat. it's entertaining. it's all about wearing tight pants and being gay. that's really it: tight pants and gay jokes. it's funny as hell. go read. and then, go here and listen to the ep's weakest track. actually, start listening and then read the interview. why they put the weakest track up, i don't know. it's still great, but shit, the other 4 are just like revelatory.
hmm, on the t yesterday picking up my car, i realized something: i'm really beginning to appreciate a good ass on a girl. this chick got off the t and i was looking at her ass the whole way off, then i followed her ass off the t, to the corner, and across the street, until the t cruelly took me away from it. and it was nice. i would certainly not mind more good asses in my viewing future.
i vow to you, readers of self-titled.net, that i will never again eat a meal at the ground round. it was never very good, but it was passable, and got steadily less passable throughout the eyars. well, tonight i went with adam and sean and it was without a doubt the worst meal i've ever had in a restaurant, i had one bite of my french dip and had to send it back and there wasn't one single thing on the menu i wanted. so i got the usually fuck-up-proof cinammon dippers and even they were off - overcooked a bit. ground round has shitty food, it always has, and i wash my hands of the whole thing.
"here" by pavement is an awesome awesome song.
ok that's it for me, it's 3.5 and i'm gonna stay up and play with music some more. oh, someone get me a drum machine for my birthday. also buffy plz kthx i korea, kekekeke ^_^ huk.

do you like hammers?
I wrote the following two days ago: don't worry, nothing happened today of note.
catch up time.
watched 12 monkeys with sean and john on sunday and then played a bunch of GTA3 until ice cream night. tim arrived, we ate ice cream. as we were leaving, tim told us that some spiffy suv was his car so i stood next to it until i realized what was up and then these three guys came out of white mountain and were all "why the fuck did you piss on our car?" and they seemed serious. it was weird.
tim had brought beer and we intended to drink it. first we went to roggie's for some pitchers and then sean tim and i kicked it to chez peterik for beer and video games until the ungodly hour of 4am.
i called in sick the next morning and at 9:30 or so, tim came and picked me up for you see, a bunch of us were going to cape cod. wallace and meg, sean, dave, tim and brenda. we drove down, got pizza 1 and subs 2 and then found a beach. set up camp, cracked some beers and enjoyed life for a few hours. at 5 or 6 we left after a full day of sun and peeing in the ocean. brenda dave tim and i ate obnoxiously at applebee's and hten went to our home's to get ready for some partying.
at 10 or so, people arrived at my place. the day's group minus meg plus denise. we played asshole and then kings and then ended at 2. by far the best part of the night was the rule i made up during kings wherein every person would from that point on be known as the name chosen by the person to their left. and by some magical grace of god, three people were pokemon. tim was charmandar, wallace was bolbasaur, and brenda, and this is my creation and by far my favorite, was squirtle. i was in heaven. anyway, at around 2 tim and i walked bren and denise home and then tim and i walked ALLLLLLL the way back and drank beers and stuff.
work was unfun the next day and then after work i went to see britt daniel of spoon with sean at tt the bears. the opening group had a hot chick and was, at best, "pleasant." britt was disappointing, i mean, he was singing his songs, spoon songs, but they lacked a lot of the rock bobast that makes them great on album when it's jsut him and his guitar. then the next band, the gloria record came up and were such a whiny assault to our ears we left after a few songs. free tickets though.
today i go home and get my geek on. ladies and gentlemen, i will be playing dungeons and dragons in the pen and paper style but with a computer game. keep your comments to yourselves.
oh, run don't walk to your local record store and pick up the hot hot heat EP. and call your radio stations and request the hell out of "touch you touch you" because you will not hear a more ass-kicking piece of rock n' roll all summer.

why atari sucks in '02
so i had something written, but left it at work because i'm a go-tard.
now, about the topic. you see, game companies these days have all these fancy things like securerom and safedisc and shit to counter computer piracy, and they're mad annoying and sometimes like what happened with the game i bought and spent 4 hours trying to get running today, all these anti-piracy measures make it not possible for people with legitimate copies to run them. so atari gets the big fuck you. and there is no role-playing goodness for me tonight.
also, a piece of my car is falling off and i have to get it maintainanced tomorrow.
and i just got struck with a fancy to go to sleep and i will do just that.

the bouncerini
so i believe the catch up begins with thursday. I tolerated the work day, came home and twin peaked it up, grabbed a bit at moogy's and then picked up b-funk for the rock show. we first made a stop at newbury comics because i needed a cd fix. in particular i wanted the hot hot heat disc and the kill rock stars comp and some hefner. needless to say, the newb failed miserably. I did pick up hefner's fidelity wars which is fucking great, and the her space holidy disc which i haven't listened to and the cornelius album i've been flirting with for months. listened to it once and it sounds all sorts of promising.
then we drove on down to 608 in somerville and grabbed a table. oh first, we had to pay because wzbc said i won tickets but never gave 608 the comp list. grr. so anyway, we sat down right in time for the secrets. they were great. hannah was there, which was rather awkward, our paths didn't cross though. after the secrets came certainly, sir. i researched them at work, got 3 mp3s and looped them for like an hour, it was great stuff. really chill out sexy music, highly recommended. anyway, they got on stage and were just great. really enjoyed their set. then the show ended and turned into a dance party but sober me isn't all that interested in dance parties. we bought secrets shirts i picked up the certainly, sir full length and then we took the longest most roundabout route home ever.
after finding no parking, i had brenda drive me to my apt and park my car at bc. of course, the minute she left a spot opened up. also, there was a prisoner transport unit outside my apartment. that was cool. i finally did the bed routine at around 2.
friday friday friday.
played with excel at work for lack of anything real to do. after work i rented the mr. show dvds. OH WAIT. first, at work, i had a brilliant idea. i was talking about how aol/time warner has their fists in about a zillion pies including shit like aerospace and publishing and pharmaceuticals and child labor and what not, and thought, "how could AOL/Time Warner become an even more perfect megacorp?" and it hit me like a ton of bricks: pokemon. aol/tw needs to merge with pokemon and become the most awesome and unholy alliance this world has seen.
so then i went home and watched mr. show. the first season left me kind oh wait, first i finished twin peaks. with only about one million billion cliffs to hang off its gonna be a long hard wait till the season 2 dvds come out. ok, mr. show. wasn't thrilled with season one, but then i popped in the first ep of season 2 and it suddenly became incredibly funny. i called sean over, we drank beers and watched 6 episodes and it was goddam hilarious. we then went to steph's place as they were having a party. we went in, it was lame and we couldn't find steph, so we left and called her to tell her we were on our way. ha! i had called brenda earlier to hear how "what's the buzz" from JCS went and she mentioned that she and kate were drinking so after steph's bombed sean and i trekked to campus. which wasn't particularly exciting. at some point i went home and left about a zillion telephone messages across the country.
that night i had a dream. now i initially told myself that i'm glad that i don't impetuously act on my dreams like agent cooper, but, well. the dream was about me making music. and i was in bed today thinking about it more and it's something i want to do. and i also want to film the documentary of me making music and becoming a star. now, i have no practical skills except knowledge of theory and the working of a keyboard. i don't know how to program a drum machine which is essential. i don't know how to play a guitar which would help. i don't know how to write music, i don't have any lyrics, and i don't own a video camera or really know how to make a documentary. we'll see if this thing ever gets off the ground.
saturday was a day of much food shopping and video games. then i went to seans and we went to some place on comm ave which was alright i suppose. got pretty drunk and kicked it home and to bed at 1:34.
today is chill out day and 12 monkeys with sean and katie i think and then timk is coming up but we can't buy beer as it is the lord's day so who knows what'll happen with that.

pennsylvania 6-5000
wow, i really hate myself tonight. and oddly enough it's not due to my weight problem, my cough syrup addiction or even my closeted my little pony fetish. well, formerly closeted. hmm, since that's out, let me tell you that i had the most awesome dream last night involving carousel, pinky AND rosey posey. needless to say, it was very hard to wake up and face the reality of a world full of real girls who don't want get together in a hott three-way.
anyway, why am i so angry? because i'm a greedy little pig. rubbing my sick little snout all over the place and making a mess and being wanton and fat and eating everything in sight and not savoring any of it. you see, i have, courtesy of jude, the dvd collection of the first season of twin peaks. 7 episodes. i watched episode 2-5 today. that's 4 episodes. i should be taking my time, watching one every few days. but instead, i practically blew the whole damn load today, guaranteeing that in a few days i will have no more twin peaks until the goddam season 2 dvd comes out in 2008. i hate me. also, twin peaks rules.
so after i watched these episodes and checked my bed to make sure that sherilyn fenn wasn't waiting in it naked for me instead of agent cooper, i was chatting with jude and he told me that miss fenn did a playboy spread. i devoted my next 15 minutes to looking on the internet for nude sherilyn fenn pictures. i eventually found some, except they were all crappy screen caps from some lame movie and not the exquisitely airbrushed glamour that playboy is known for. i did find one or two high quality classy nudes and by god, i'm in love. i find myself seeing a lot of lara flynn boyle in her, but sherilyn is not a twig like LFB is. also, agent cooper is the coolest guy in the universe. hell, the multiverse.
had some sort of interview today, it was fine. not getting my hopes up or even sideways. staffing agencies seem weird.
isaac from the secrets e-mailed me also. dammit, i kept meaning to write to thank them for the single they sent. anyway, he reminded me about the 608 show tomorrow so i'm gonna try and scam some tix from zbc and make it out. also told me about a party at his house friday, "it is gonna rule!" maybe this time, eh.
the amount of spam i've been getting lately is nauseating. no, i don't want to buy a house, or get a free motorcycle, or watch you and your girlfriends in a three way, or get a million billion dollars helping launder the ex-president of nigeria's money, so just leave me the hell alone.

cruise control
ho ho ho back from jersey.
friday i had work, went to some meeting with peter to talk to some over-excited and horribly smarmy and patronizing IT people who i wanted to punch and take their job. Then i went home and played ssbm for a couple hours until katie was ready to leave.
We left. Discovered that mike was driving behind us. went to mcdonalds. drove. We hatched the plan to be dating for the purposes of jude's graduation party. We figured we came together shortly after that whole september 11 thing. I arbitrarily picked 9/20, then realized it was brenda's birthday and was said to katie "wow, if only i hadn't gone to her birthday party, how history would've been changed" and then katie brilliantly made a back to the future reference involving brenda disappearing from a picture. i was amused.
we pulled in around 10 or 10:30 or so. went to blockbuster and i begrudgingly (is that word?) picked bridget jones' diary at katie's insistance. and then i saw that they finally got the original nosferatu and picked that up. and then katie forced me into getting mary kate and ashley olsen in amateur porn, err winning london or something. I still had my reservations about these two, them being michelle tanner and all, and refused to see them as real people who may or may not be attractive, but katie was out to change my mind on that.
we went to the quickcheck to buy candy and there were all these kids outside with their trunks open blaring bad music that sounded like crap through their shitty sound systems. katie and i wanted to sit on my car and smoke cigarettes while blasting ricky martin or santana or whatever else was on my summer 99 cd. but we didn't because we were afraid.
back home, made popcorn, got drinks, settled on my bed and watched bridget. i enjoyed it although hugh grant was wasted. hugh grant should never star in a movie where you are forced to hate him because hating him is absolutely no fun. then we watched nosferatu. the soundtrack was godawful so most of it was spent on mute. katie was fading fast too and the movie wasn't nearly as cool as it had been built up in my mind so some fast-forwarding was done. magically, katie woke up out of her sleepyness and we watched mk and ashley. the movie was quite enjoyable actually, and i really only thought of them as michelle if i forced myself to do so. i enjoyed a mk & a olsen movie. i hate myself.
then we watched some tv or something until 4:30 or 5. I fell asleep to batman.
nexdt day was jude's, we set out around 1:30 and there was a GD parade in hackettstown so there was mad traffic and a detour. got there eventually, ate, hung out. it was jude katy brady and rick. brady was a riot. we watched rock star. there was this girl there, she apparantly lived in the house. apparantly, katy asked how old she was and the response went something like this "15, but don't tell anyone, i don't want it to ruin my chances" "you know, these guys are all out of college" "what does that matter?" eww. then she was mad flirting with brady and katie and i were dying. jude let me borrow twin peaks goodness. that makes me very happy.
katie and i left around 6ish and headed back to my bed where we assumed tv watching position and watched. We watched tv until 4. mostly the game show network. we took a nap around 8-9. i remembered SNL was on and i jokingly said "i'll be it's going to be the one episode i've seen this year" and surprise surprise it was. that stupid ass one with johnny mosely (4th place in the olympic freestyle skiing - and he was hosting because...?) and i was super pissed. luckily there were gameshows on.
next day we slept in, and left for the palisade's mall around 3:30. got there and met up with tim and tara. i bought nintendo stuff and clothes and then we went to friday's and oly and casey came. fun time. I left the mall back for boston alone at 7:30 or 8 or something and then got in around 11 and played a little res evil and kicked it to bed.
i'm probably forgetting many things that will be entertaining to no one but katie and myself. perhaps that is for the best.
oh (i'm at work, so this will be full of random additions). driving home alone last night i realized that long drives by yourself are a weird thing. I found myself occassionaly reflecting the fact that i had been completely silent for so long and that that was weird and stuff, and then wanting to break the silence but not doing it because it would be a manufactured break. I guess i do it all the time: make no noise. I don't speak or sing when i'm sitting here at my desk, but when i start to think about it it gets weird. i didn't even talk to myself ever last night, it'd just be silence, me internally thinking about the silence, and occasional outbursts of loud singing along.
and now, a plug: www.rockstargame.com it's pretty early in its development and kind of bare on features, but after a few days and i'm already addicted. the premise: you're a rock band. you practice, rest, tour, write, record and then try to make money and be popular. WE just released our first single: "Bitter End" B/W "Freddie Prinze Jr." and "Perpendiculoid." And i can't wait till tomorrow to see that it sold 5 copies (thanks mom) for the week. Basically, each real day is a game week and you get 56 points spread out evenly over 24 hours each day to do stuff like practice rest tour write and record. it's early in the cycle and a new version is coming out soon. i'd love to see shit like record labels and a better producer system and what not, but i guess that's kind of indiecentric and and the kid fronting some nu-metal band isn't gonna care who's recording him or what label he's on, so long as "Violent Death" comes out and goes triple plat. but check it out and give it a few days, it's fun.

give me your heart make it real or else forget about it
you know, back last time i listened to the radio at work it was a pretty sad affair. it was when i was at radiant two summers ago. day in day out i'd hear the same songs, oftentimes twice or more during the day. it was annoying, but kinda fun. i made a mix of all the songs i heard constantly that summer and you're in luck, because i just found the cd. now let's find out what those songs were back in the summer of '99.
1. the sundays - summertime: this was on my mix cd i brought to work and listened to when i wasn't listening to the radio
2. santana and rob crow, no rob crow is the guy in pinback. santana and the dude from that band - crush? smoke? smush? what the fuck is this song's name. well, you know which song it is. i can't believe i can't remember a.) the singer b.) the song name. SMOOTH. SMOOTH yes. still don't know rob's name but i think he's in matchbox 20? rob thomas. i'm a genius. anyway yeah, this song.
3. len - steal my sunshine: this not from the radio but also from my mix, although i did fall in love with the girl when i saw the video after work most days.
4. madonna - beautiful stranger: i never claimed to have a passion for these songs, i just heard them nonstop and they represent a time in my life. also, i hate this song.
5. fatboy slim - rockafeller skank: can't remember if this was radio or mix, but i know it was FIFA first.
6. ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
LFO - summer girls: i like this song. what the fuck is he talking about. "hip hop marmalade spic and span / met you one summer and it all began / you're the best girl that i ever did see / the great larry bird jersey 33 / when you take a sip you buzz like a hornet / billy shakespeare wrote a whole bunch of sonnets / call me willy whistle cause i can't speak baby / something in your eyes went and drove me crazy / now i can't forget you and it makes me mad / left one day and never came back / stayed all summer then went back home / macauley culkin wasn't home alone / fell deep in love love but now we ain't speaking / michael j fox was alex p keaton / when i met you i said my name was rich / you look like a girl from abercrombie and fitch." that's either brilliant or the most idiotic thing ever written. the second verse makes much more sense - it's disappointing.
7. new radicals - you get what you give: this song is still alright
8. cher - strong enough: hey man, it was the radio, not me
9. ricky martin - livin' la vida loca
10. geri halliwell - look at me: yeah, the hot ex-spice girl. sexy spice or something. i like this song. brits can get away with cheesey ass pop for some reason.
11. somebody - she likes me for me: haven't heard this song forever, i'm still down with it.
12. sixpence none the richer - kiss me
13. smashmouth - all star: eww
14. sugar ray - every morning: every goddam ride home if this song came on i did nothing but sing harmony
15. britney spears - sometimes: awwwwww
16. will smith - wild wild west: wow, was this really 2 years ago? wonder where my wild wild west sunglasses are.
17. fatboy slim - praise you: haven't heard this for ages. still rules though.
18. joydrop - beautiful: obviously from my mix cd, heh. although i first heard it on the radio... and then never again. this song also kicks ass.
and that's the end.
I really had no intention of writing down the track list, but i found the cd and was curious. the reason for the mention was simply a setup. saying that 2 years ago it was the same radio every day. well, it's the same deal now. except instead of madonna and ricky and lfo, the day goes a lot like this:
dntel - (this is) the dream of evan and chan, notwist - one with the freaks and pick up the phone, belle & sebastian - i'm waking up to us, death cab for cutie - all is full of love, stu walker - tvamd, hefner - baggage reclaim song, scott 4 and magic car - for teens in the meantime, a mooney suzuki song, something by mum, that clientele song i can't remember the name of, the new dj shadow single, and then some other rotating shit. and then, depending on the dj, there's some really whacked out shit. moral of the story, who'd of thought i'd ever be on the brink of getting sick of dntel from hearing it on the radio so frequently?
and then i came home and played super smash bros until 11:30. now i should be going to sleep. tomorrow i go to work come home then go to jersey with katie. huzzah.

today i bought a gamecube and super smash bros. melee during lunch and after work i came home and played it a bunch and then sean came over and we played it a bunch more.
and that's my day. i have ignored FIFA today which is sad but i need to go to bed now. iw as supposed to go to bed now yesterday but then i talked to katie for an hour or so. i was not happy this morning. i would like to be happy tomorrow morning.
oh yeah, read an interesting bit about mcdonalds today. they are giving out $10m in a class action lawsuit to hindus and vegetarians because they use a beef product to flavor there fries and didn't tell anyone. that's awesome. beef fries. what'll they think of next?

rewind
jude is dead to me. traded grosse pointe blank and three kings for a bunch of foofy movies. grosse point blank, man.
i slept an extra half hour today and work still seemed as long as ever. AND i even played with VBA for a few hours. this sucks man.
came home and played a heartbreaking game. It was the first for the ECC and it was against liverpool. keane scored the first goal on the game's first shot at the 20 mark. then they scored. then keane got one in at 35. At 44, cole went and scored on our own goal to tie it up. so it was a fake tied match at the half. beckham scored at 60 and it was looking good. a nice 3-2 win. now in soccer, the clock never stops. so at the end of each half all the lost time from penalties and goals and what not gets added on in what is called stoppage time. well, those fuckers from liverpool scored during stoppage time. really, who does that.
then went to sean's and watched tv as he cooked hot dogs and shells and cheese and cookies for me and katie. then we came here and made popcorn and watched grosse pointe blank.
and now it's 11:46 and i'm really tempted to take a half hour and play newcastle. i'm also tempted to sit and listen to music. but i really ought to just go to bed.
here's a picture i drew

it's only us
work reaffirmed what a cool cool dude elvis costello is.
then i bought fifa 2002.
then i played soccer. lots of it. took me a while to get down with the new passing system, but i'm getting the hang of it and manchester united is 4th in the english premiership after 4 games. two small wins, an intense 0-0 against aston villa. then we game back against everton to tie it 3-3, only to have the limeys score the gamebreaker at the 89 minute mark. it was a great disappointment.
so i started playing soccer at around 5. it's 11 now. i forgot to eat. oh well.
maybe i'll go to bed or soemthing, it was a late night last night.
hmm i've played man u all my life, i wonder if i should branch out to another league. i saw parma in the italian league, that could be fun. i could tell katie all about it.
oh, i had a recurring dream last night. It's the one where the bostonians are having a party with a bunch of apes. and the apes are pretty cool for the most part, well there's one real asshole and then one nice guy. but anyway, they're just playing nice because at one point in the night i have to bring them down this claw relic they have, and when they get it, the killing frenzy begins. This time int he dream, i was sent up to the bathroom to get it, but i snuck into a bedroom when none of the apes were looking and i climbed out the window and jumped from the mod second story to the ground and ran to edmonds where i ran into todd and greg. i hope all my friends didn't die, but shit, the apes scare me and i ain't no hero.
oh yeah, i forgot peter schmeichel went to aston villa. that was weird, facing up against my old goalkeeper.
i wish i had a tv so i could watch world cup. although god knows what time the matches are on because it's in japan time and i don't know what that is... i guess about 12 hours. heh, that'd make the matches between 3 and 8 am. oh well.
applied for a bunch of those harvahd jobs today. we'll see if that amounts to anything.

cellar door
june is busting out all over
nick cave's "hallelujah" is a wonderful song.
so it's been a long weekend and i've learned many things. The first is that aside from a putting together a cool soundtrack and somehow getting times square all to his self for 3 hours, cameron crowe should be publicly beaten for making vanilla sky. oh, the dolby digital mix was cool too. and naked penelope cruz. but aside from this it was just crowe masturbating with material that he was not prepared to make work on screen. instead it ambles on for an hour and a half and then gives a half hour of exposition explaining the random way everything worked and making the entire movie useless.
next thing i learned: if you live in los angeles you will do cocaine. I learned this from time code, which was a very dangerous dvd for me to get my hands on. time code is the one that mike figgis did with 4 simultaneous, uncut video feeds running the entire 90 minutes. fascinating to watch. the story was really background and sort of lame, but god was it fascinating to watch. there were times when all 4 screens were boring. woman sitting in a car, two women eating, someone smoking a cigarette, and people having a dull converstaion, but it was still amazing. and then, the bastards went and put the first take in its entirety on the dvd (the final was the 15th take) so i watched that. and then the bastards went and made it so you could pick only one of the audio channels to listen to and i watched a few sections of a few minutes with all 4 trakcs and was tempted to watch the whole damn movie 4 times but i took it back to blockbuster.
i also learned that the popcorn maker i got at final show is the coolest thing ever.
i learned other things too, but i'm going to drop this format.
i saw happiness, which disturbed the hell out of me, but i've got to give it props. i saw donnie darko which i may hate or i may enjoy.
i watched mulholland drive on thursday with katie. i love that movie. no other movie in the world has done the things to me MD has. i copied the crying song to my computer for listening fun.
i have world cup fever apparently and have been dying to play FIFA. so i went to blockbuster and they failed me. then i wanted to rent lost highway, but i've become a snob and they don't have it on dvd. they have a huge dvd selection, but as i scoured it for 30 minutes today and found about 5 movies i'd rent i realize that they have a really shitty dvd selection full of movies like tom cats and pooty tang.
umm
on friday there was a party roommette style (minus tara + sarah's friend + andy) and there was a powerhour and the cowboy hat came out after a long rest. and i got very drunk. saturday is when i watched vanilla sky, and thank god sean was here to endure it with me and drink my beer. then i djd and we drank more and then fixed black russians for the road and i walked to his place in the cowboy hat again, played a game of gotham city racing and walked home and crashed.
postscript: one, the rhino elvis costello reissues are super nice.
also, i shit you not, there was just a thunder blast that has lasted about two minutes. it's still going. still going. three minutes later and it's still going. except the thunder is only contained in my apartment, which is the scary thing. and then i found out that it was coming from my speakers. whoops. donnie darko does it again. that was the coolest thing ever. why did it start though? i'll tell you why. it was a sign. because outside i realized something. i am going to become a god. not the god, but a god. blame it on vanilla sky blame it on donnie darko, blame it on my unchecked ego. either way, i have just been born as a god. the thunder was the symbolic baptism. i now have complete control over everything that happens in the world. i can do anything. i can make anything i want happen. it is all in my mind, everything. this power is frightening. terribly frightening. knowing that the world is my own creation. that everything is here because i made it be here. this is amazing. you may call it delusional, and you will, because i've created you to do that. holy shit, i don't know if i can handle this. but i will certainly try. a new day has dawned. a book has been closed and the universe has been opened.
